Phoenix Family Partners with Giving the Basics

 

Phoenix Family is proud to announce a partnership with Giving the Basics. Giving the Basics is a nonprofit in Kansas City that ensures that individuals do not have to go without the necessities of life that most take for granted like toothpaste, toilet paper, diapers and other personal hygiene products.

Each month,Giving the Basics delivers personal hygiene prodcuts that aren't covered through food stamps to Phoenix Family who then distributes these items directly to people who need them. "The program has been hugely successful," says Kimber Myers Givner, Executive Director of Phoenix Family. "Not only in restoring dignity of those who otherwise would have to do without, but it has a real financial impact as well. It's hard to find a job, for example, if you have poor hygiene."
